The DG-3 Slick is the ultimate “grey man” version of the time tested DG-3. It is the same 55 litre bag, however there have been some modifications to make it look less “tactical” for obvious reasons there are times and places where covert operations need this sort of system which doesn’t stand out like a sore thumb. All internal features of the DG-3 Slick are identical to the DG-3, however, we have removed all MOLLE and the external frame and have chosen to use a dedicated internal frame system.
Features:
Our world’s best laminated and contoured shoulder harness;
CF exclusive bug out buckles, safe and positive QR;
Lumbar pad and detachable hip wings;
Triple pocket contoured top lid to secure bigger loads;
Centre zip access for light loads;
Zipper access for radio and antenna;
Two removable internal pockets;
Side slots for long items; and
Dual compression straps.

When I cracked selection I didn’t have the luxury of bits of kit like this.The DG3 SLICK (55L) is a perfect greyman ruck. The weight’s still heavy but my shoulders and back aren’t fazed. It’s weird actually how much new technology and good craftsmanship can make such a massive difference.

Being ex infantry, I had my eyes out for a hiking/bushcraft pack that echoed the durability and functionality of my service pack. I was recommended Crossfire by some of the guys I served with and got my hands on the DG3 Slick.
First of all, the internal frame and harness system on the Slick version of the DG3 is far superior to any system I’ve experienced within the military and your civilian hiking packs. The way it sits off my back allows for a lot of air circulation which makes a big difference on long hikes/patrols.
The materials are just what you would expect with any military gear, it actually feels a lot tougher and harder wearing than packs I’ve used previously which already stood up to years of abuse out bush.
The main compartment eats up gear and the hood can be strapped down to bring down the overall size to suit the load, which is something I don’t like about most modern ‘zip close’ packs.
It’s difficult not to write a raving review while keeping it honest. A pack is a pack and in my experience there are only good and bad packs. Based on two main things – functionality and comfort.
This pack is both simple and practical and very comfortable. This is one of the good ones.
