\Bombproof raincoat of 3 layer Andover GORE-TEX® fabric.

Similar in design to our PEACE KEEPER® jacket. Our chief designer has spent 17 years perfecting the cut and fit of this garment. He has experimented with many styles to produce our first full freedom of movement cut. Some of our competitors are still making a hash of copying designs which we declared obsolete ten years ago.

Roomy cut works comfortably in a layering system.

Wide size tolerant shoulders don’t bind underarm or biceps, even when wearing a pack.

Pre curved arms ease weapons handling.

Contoured, flexible hood. Draw cords tucked down to eliminate eye hazard in high winds.

Constructed wrists with touch tape closures, to accommodate gloves with gauntlets.

Zip and dome snap front closure (nice and quiet), with our distinctive rain gutter flap (we were amused to notice a copycat has recently installed this backwards on their garment).

Draw cord at waist to reduce bulk.

Easy access Chest map pockets.

Gusseted and shaped cargo pockets with ‘hand warmer’ slots.

Waist and lower hem draw cords. Pockets to conceal toggles and reduce snagging hazard.

Additional Zip tracks for adding FIRE FLEECE® vest or jacket as thermal liner.

Rank slide on front.

      Options:

Underarm zips: Water resistant, offering bulk ventilation. Helps to move warm, moist air out of your microclimate.

Gun zips: Side access zips for weapons, and belt rigs.

Outer Shell – PEACE KEEPER® fabric.
A CROSSFIRE® exclusive. We took a yarn generally used in backpacks because of its’ very high strength. This strong, texturised, soft yarn was then woven in a garment type fabric. Impressive stuff. Strong, quiet, abrasion resistant, water repellent (not proof), ventilating. As an outer shell it protects the lightweight inner fabric from dirt, grease and gun oil.

Inner layer:
W.L. Gore and Associates, Inc. came to the party with a super soft, super light laminate of GORE-TEX® called STORMLINER®. It’s waterproof, highly breathable and effectively weatherproofs the PEACE KEEPER® jacket. Exclusive to CROSSFIRE®.

Design Brief

One dread day the doctor looks into your fresh young face and says: “Miss (Son, Sir, Madam, etc) you have the knee joints of a person twice your age. We are booking you in for the operation”.

It’s the mileage. The wear and tear of pounding the ground. The leaping and the falling and the twisting.

We can’t roll back the speedo but we can gear it down a bit. Here is a boot specifically designed for the one profession which is expected to run over broken ground whilst over loaded with tools of their trade.

Features

We wanted to make the very finest combat boot possible and so we turned to Weinbrenner Shoe Co of Merrill Wisconsin. They are one of the few boot makers to have kept the capacity to make boots by the classic Goodyear Welt system.

The sewn (welted) midsole is the structural heart of a construction strong enough for speed and agility. Costs more to make, saves the wearer in durability and comfort.

Goodyear Welt construction.

Synthetic Shank to absorb shock and support the foot over broken ground. Provides torsion strength for ‘edging’ across slope. No steel.

Structural midsole with cork filler. Moulds to your foot shape.

Thick slab of high density shock absorbing foam.

Rockered last for proper ‘strike and roll’ when moving fast.

Foot bed. Replaceable, high quality dual foam footbed.

Snag free non-ferrous speed lacers.

Rough out top grain leather upper in issue khaki colour.

Heavy duty heel and toe counters. Heel cup is sewn in place to resist pronation and maintain proper joint (ankle, knee, hip) alignment.

Ventilating, quick drying. Free-2-Air® lining.

Vibram Sierra Outsole. Highly durable and heat resistant. Mountaineering grade grip.

Defence Endorsed

Approved for Army wear by CA.

Sizes

U.S. sizes 4½ – 12 in half sizes. 13, 14, 15 and 16. Medium and Wide.

Made on the classic CrossFire last to fit wide local feet. Plenty of room for orthotics.

Fitting

We have good experience of fitting by mail. Trace around your foot with a sock on, draw a scale next to it 20cm. Put your name, phone number, favourite pair of joggers size and issue boot size on it. Note sizing as it is labelled in the shoe (typically US, UK, Euro). Post or fax to us with your phone number. We’ll call back and finalise fitting.

Design Brief

Way back in the early ‘80’s Ian Maley of WE designed the famous SAS – Mk6 rucksack. It was the most advanced military pack of its day, with a live frame and ergonomic harness.

Ten – twenty years later many loyal SAS – Mk6 users started coming to us as their much loved packs approached the end of their service lives.

We commissioned Mr Maley to bring the pack up to date, using all his years of industry experience and in the light of feedback from thousands of users.

The result of our R&D investment is the Dukz Gutz of military packs, the DG-3. In performance it equals the finest of mountaineering packs, in military features it is unequalled.

A brilliant design, superbly executed.

Features

Flexible Frame. Aircraft alloy frame flexes with the human back to allow for a natural gait. Hips and shoulders can move independently. The flex cancels the sway on rigid frame packs which is so fatiguing to shoulder muscles.

Shock from jumps and falls is absorbed by the spring tempered frame minimising spinal stresses.

Harness. Finest construction and ergonomics. Laminated from no less than 7 layers of technical materials to ensure ventilation, load distribution and personal fit. Structural elements maintain shape under heavy loads and prolonged use. Memory materials mould to the wearer’s shape. Free-2-Air® body contact mesh for ventilation and cooling. Adjustable, elasticised sternum strap.

Shoulder Strap QR. CrossFire exclusive low profile QR buckles. Solid under load, super swift release. Security lock off.

Mega Duckbill buckle for easy adjustment on donning and doffing. PLEASE NOTE: None of our packs use the manifestly inadequate expedient of a 1″ side release buckle in this role. Dangerous and improper usage.

Drag Handle. Heavily reinforced and big enough for hand grip or krab.

Hip Fins. CBA Compatible. Hip loading is a vital feature for heavy hauling. However, CBA and belt order are incompatible with conventional hip belts. Our elegant solution is hip fins which can be swung upwards and stowed. In this position they still provide support while allowing clearance for belt order. Should there be a need to wear bulky CBA the padding can be removed from the fins for better clearance. This feature is also useful when operating out of cramped aircraft or vehicles. Stowing hip fins greatly reduces the nuisance of belt and buckles snagging on seats or tripping up your colleagues.

Dust Proofing / Waterproofing.

Top Compartment. Roll top is simple and fast to use. It’s the first line of defence against dust and dew. In the unfortunate event that you must overload, the sleeve allows secure stowage above the shoulder line

Waterproof liner.

Removable taped waterproof liner bag. Roll and snap top. Saves precious minutes on river crossings.

Sleeping Bag Compartment.

Outer closure by roll and snap. Inner liner is taped tent floor nylon.

Hydration Pouch. Inner hangers and pouch to fit 3 litre Gerber hydration. Dual ports for tubing.

Radio Pouch. Inner hangers and mesh pouch for radio. Aerial ports. Zip access.

Top Lid. Shaped for snag free movement through scrub. Zipped claymore pocket.

Side Compression Straps. Two each side. One top centre.

MOLLE. Our distinctive 20 / 25 MOLLE on back and sides make it easy to attach any make of PALS pouches or pockets.

LA Rings. For attachment of extra straps to carry external loads.

X Buckles. We chose to use X buckles for various closures and strap adjustments. These latest generation buckles have many detail improvements over previous styles.

Crush (boot heel) resistant reinforced walls.

Reinforced ‘fingers’ can’t be inserted incorrectly.

Improved approach angle for one handed closing.

Extra plate thickness for strength.

Field replaceable via LA rings.

Sometimes you don’t get a choice of the spot you must doss down on for the night. Might be in a muddy ditch. Then no time to dry out in the morning, just a few minutes to break camp and hit the road.

You need a sleeping bag which is tough enough to cope with wild and wet conditions, dirt, cam cream.

Materials

Lamilite® is a continuous (not chopped staple) filament, laminated insulation. No need for the heat leaking quilt lines used to stabilise most synthetics. No chance of clumping. Easily laundered. Can be stored (in stuffsack) for lengthy periods without losing loft.

Not quite as compact as superdown, but a whole lot tougher and far cheaper. Serviceable, long lasting and warm even when wet.
