ADVANCED FIELD JACKET – GORTEX
Bombproof raincoat of 3 layer Andover GORE-TEX® fabric.
Similar in design to our PEACE KEEPER® jacket. Our chief designer has spent 17 years perfecting the cut and fit of this garment. He has experimented with many styles to produce our first full freedom of movement cut. Some of our competitors are still making a hash of copying designs which we declared obsolete ten years ago.
- Roomy cut works comfortably in a layering system.
- Wide size tolerant shoulders don’t bind underarm or biceps, even when wearing a pack.
- Pre curved arms ease weapons handling.
- Contoured, flexible hood. Draw cords tucked down to eliminate eye hazard in high winds.
- Constructed wrists with touch tape closures, to accommodate gloves with gauntlets.
- Zip and dome snap front closure (nice and quiet), with our distinctive rain gutter flap (we were amused to notice a copycat has recently installed this backwards on their garment).
- Draw cord at waist to reduce bulk.
- Easy access Chest map pockets.
- Gusseted and shaped cargo pockets with ‘hand warmer’ slots.
- Waist and lower hem draw cords. Pockets to conceal toggles and reduce snagging hazard.
- Additional Zip tracks for adding FIRE FLEECE® vest or jacket as thermal liner.

PEACE KEEPING®JACKET
Design Brief:
Invent a single garment which provides tactical protection across the widest range of cold / wet climate conditions. Garment is extremely tough, light, compact, quiet, wind and water resistant, unaffected by POL, DEET, cam cream, etc. Garment allows freedom of movement, full arm articulation, limits heat stress and looks real smicko. Not so much a rain coat as an ‘All weather’ coat.

- CROSSFIRE® exclusive freedom of movement cut and fit. Graded and shaped to function comfortably alone or over insulating garments.
- PEACE KEEPER® fabric outer shell with zip in – zip out STORMLINER® inner layer. Wear shell alone in E.T. highlands. Zip in STORMLINER® for Pucka or O.S. deployment. Wear STORMLINER® alone as a running shell in blowy weather. Wear liner under cams for quiet ops in the rain.

Fabrics:
Outer Shell – PEACE KEEPER® fabric.
A CROSSFIRE® exclusive. We took a yarn generally used in backpacks because of its’ very high strength. This strong, texturised, soft yarn was then woven in a garment type fabric. Impressive stuff. Strong, quiet, abrasion resistant, water repellent (not proof), ventilating. As an outer shell it protects the lightweight inner fabric from dirt, grease and gun oil.
Inner layer:
W.L. Gore and Associates, Inc. came to the party with a super soft, super light laminate of GORE-TEX® called STORMLINER®. It’s waterproof, highly breathable and effectively weatherproofs the PEACE KEEPER® jacket. Exclusive to CROSSFIRE®.
