Design Brief
One dread day the doctor looks into your fresh young face and says: “Miss (Son, Sir, Madam, etc) you have the knee joints of a person twice your age. We are booking you in for the operation”.
It’s the mileage. The wear and tear of pounding the ground. The leaping and the falling and the twisting.
We can’t roll back the speedo but we can gear it down a bit. Here is a boot specifically designed for the one profession which is expected to run over broken ground whilst over loaded with tools of their trade.
Features
We wanted to make the very finest combat boot possible and so we turned to Weinbrenner Shoe Co of Merrill Wisconsin. They are one of the few boot makers to have kept the capacity to make boots by the classic Goodyear Welt system.
The sewn (welted) midsole is the structural heart of a construction strong enough for speed and agility. Costs more to make, saves the wearer in durability and comfort.
- Goodyear Welt construction.
- Synthetic Shank to absorb shock and support the foot over broken ground. Provides torsion strength for ‘edging’ across slope. No steel.
- Structural midsole with cork filler. Moulds to your foot shape.
- Thick slab of high density shock absorbing foam.
- Rockered last for proper ‘strike and roll’ when moving fast.
- Foot bed. Replaceable, high quality dual foam footbed.
- Snag free non-ferrous speed lacers.
- Rough out top grain leather upper in issue khaki colour.
- Heavy duty heel and toe counters. Heel cup is sewn in place to resist pronation and maintain proper joint (ankle, knee, hip) alignment.

U.S. sizes 4½ – 12 in half sizes. 13, 14, 15 and 16. Medium and Wide.
Made on the classic CrossFire last to fit wide local feet. Plenty of room for orthotics.
Fitting
We have good experience of fitting by mail. Trace around your foot with a sock on, draw a scale next to it 20cm. Put your name, phone number, favourite pair of joggers size and issue boot size on it. Note sizing as it is labelled in the shoe (typically US, UK, Euro). Post or fax to us with your phone number. We’ll call back and finalise fitting.

Care and Maintenance
- Try not to kick off one boot with the other. It may damage the heel counter and shorten service life.
- Between missions, remove the foam footbed and allow the boot interior to breathe.
- Wash off heavy mud or clay before drying.
- Restore softness to upper with silicone treatment.
- No Dubbin.
- Dry boots overnight by stuffing with crumpled newspaper.
- Don’t dry boots near fire.
